Former President Abdul Hamid went abroad through Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on May 7. A high-level committee has been formed today (May 11) to investigate the incident. This information was given by the press wing of the chief advisor.
The committee has been formed with Education Advisor Professor CR Abrar as the chairman. The other members of the committee are Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan and Advisor to the Ministry of Shipping and Labor and Employment Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. M Sakhawat Hossain.
The committee will review several issues and submit a report within the next 15 days. The issues are—
a. How did former President Abdul Hamid go abroad through Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on May 7.
b. Whether there was any kind of deviation and negligence in the duties of the concerned authorities in this case.
c. To determine who has failed to perform which duties and to submit recommendations on what action can be taken in that case.
In order to carry out these tasks, the committee may collect relevant documents, equipment and evidence as necessary. At the same time, it will have the authority to seek cooperation from relevant individuals and organizations. If necessary, the committee may also co-opt new members. The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs will provide secretarial support to the committee.
